The Agro Industry... In a nutshell
Sri Lanka's tropical climate favours and enables the harvesting of fruits and vegetables to be carried out throughout the year. As a result, Sri Lanka is a step ahead of competition in terms of quality and consistency of supply.

Considered to have emerged 20 years ago, the fruit and vegetable export Industry has experienced a steady growth in the recent past and currently represents 10% of the national production of Sri Lanka.
  A reliable supply chain

The Mahaweli System B area, located in the north western province of Sri Lanka is home to approximately 40,000 settler farmers who live and make a living there. Each settler farmer is allotted one irrigated hectare (ha) for crop production along with half an acre of homestead.

The infrastructure consisting of dams, canals and waterways have been constructed with the help of the United States and Canadian Governments, in order for farmers to avail themselves of the year-round irrigation system for agricultural production.

In addition to the farmers of the Mahaweli system, the company also employs the services of farmers scattered throughout the country who contribute with their share of fruits and vegetables.
